Yesterday I was reading this interesting post by Jim Karter, a guy who runs some very profitable blogs and one very popular MMO website. The post is related to Link Arbitrage and the one specific thing that was very interesting was the part where he stated the following:

1 PR4 link is equal to 166 PR1 links
1 PR5 link is equal to 16,803 PR1 links
1 PR6 link is equal to 92,414 PR1 links
1 PR7 link is equal to 508,277 PR1 links
1 PR8 link is equal to 2,795,522 PR1 links

I posted a comment asked him where he got that information, and he replied that it was taken from this source about PR calculation. The article was published in 2004 by Bob Wakfer, the owner of ComPar.com site.

It is a very interesting calculation, however I must say that I doubt it it very precise, especially after so many years. Google algo was changed a lot since 2004 and I am sure a specific differences between Google PR were changed too. Even though the calculation might not be absolutely true, I would say the same the author said about them: “Take it or leave it. It is probably a fair reflection of how PR is passed and accumulated.”

Here is a whole chart from Bob Farker’s site ComPar.com:

Here is the original article.

Update: I wanted to update this page with yet another table that I found which illustrates the approximate value of pagerank. The table looks very interesting and as you see it differs from the above table. This one is from this site.
