Make Your Blog Popular By Playing The Fool (Part 2)

This is the continued article that I posted here.

Today I will give you some clear leads on what I was referring to in my past article. Although I must admit that this is a legitimate way to get visitors, I am somewhat worried to see that it become a worldwide obsession. It seems like people simply don’t care how they will get their piece of fame (reflected to website promotion fame =traffic) and they are prepared to do anything to get it.

Ok, to be honest it’s not playing the fool all the way. It’s more like being different. And being different means being recognized. That is the situation in the real life and the same thing happens online. If you provide interesting and different content you will become a net’s favorite kid. “But there’s nothing new in that – we all know that” you might say. Ok then. Let me put it other way. You need to provide interesting and different approach to news and all your posts. How’s that? Think about it and you’ll figure out that each blogger can somehow do it on his blog.

Here are some leads that I suggest if you want to stick from the crowd:

  1. Your blog title – this is a bait. You need to be provocative and tempting. Think of your blog title as a kind of ad that you need to pay for. Many people spend hours thinking about the best phrase to put in their adwords title, in order to attract people to click. However when you write a blog post, you don’t spend much time on it. I think you should. Especially if you plan on submitting to social bookmarking sites where people often quickly review the first page and if titles are not attractive enough they don’t bother reading the description or visiting the post. Well make them. Spark their curiosity.
  2. Your post layout – Add images, and write some important statements in bold. That way you will have a much better flow and people will be more relaxed while reading your posts.
  3. Add funny comments and jokes if your blog niche allows you to.
  4. Be direct and have a strong point – Think about it before you make a statement but once you make it, make sure that it is a strong one. That will almost certainly initiate comments and discussion which means someone’s attention.
  5. Don’t care to much – If you feel like saying something, do it. Isn’t that called freedom of speech?

You must be different. At least before you become so popular that you simply don’t care. Then you can write about your new iphone or about your vacation. Till then, PLAY THE FOOL!
