And when I say “good” I mean good in terms of marketing. There are thousands of articles and blog posts about same topic, however this should give you some basic guidelines on how to write blog posts and articles that would boost your sales. I personally use some of these techniques and the list below is something I assembled for my personal use. However, since we got a lot of hits from Google about the topic I decided to post it, and I am sure many of you will find these tips useful. So let’s start…

1. Don’t just purchase third party articles or write anything to fill your sites. You need quality stuff, informational and useful to your visitors. So if you are purchasing articles, You should go trough each of themĀ  before publishing, and make sure they have some quality info and tips. Using relevant keywords is also important, however do not fill your posts and articles with phrases and keywords without limit. You need to balance those two. Keep in mind however that you always need to focus on quality content. That will bring you more visitors in the long run.

2. As you probably already figured out there is no way you can compete with huge resources like Wikipedia and others in terms of amount of info you provide. So don’t. You should keep your articles and posts short, easily readable and informative. Did you know that articles with shorter paragraphs generally get higher ad CTR than those with longer paragraphs. Also shorter articles get higher ad CTR than long ones. How short? Well In my opinion 350 words is the limit, but you can experiment on your site / blog. Keep that in mind when you write your next article.

3. Use link baiting titles! People seem to react to these very good. “10 largest …” “Five greatest…” “Secrets about…” are great in terms of marketing.

4. Write some important sentences or phrases in bold. That would draw reader attention and again, people seem to react to these very good.

5. Use lists if possible. Readers love numbered and un-numbered lists in articles.

6. Do not try to put it all in one post. Focus! When writing article you should read your title again after each paragraph, if not sentence. That way you will not be carried away from your main article topic. You can always post another article later and explain something from previous article, and link it from that previous article.

These tips are something we use for all content written on most of our sites. They also work great for articles submitted to article directories and we hope that you will find these tips useful on your sites and blogs.
